Pallet Protocol

Interactive demonstration of using slip-sheet palletising with Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC) pallet labels as a replacement for individual carton/case shipping marks.

The demonstration project is based on 24 pallets, instead of 700 cartons, as the inspection units.

• The slip-sheet pallet footprint is configured to meet US pallet requirements.
• The pallet label is used as the inspection placard – no shipping marks are applied to the cartons/cases.
• The 24 slip-sheet pallets are inspected an,d if all is in order, the 24 pallets are stamped 'US Inspected and Passed'.
• The time saving for the unloading and inspection has been shown to be reduced to 1 person for 15 minutes, instead of up to 5 people for up to 4 hours.

The key elements of this process are the link between the individual cartons/cases and each pallet label (placard), and between each pallet and the Health Certificate and consignment SSCC (the shipping mark).
